Standards and Terminologies

SNOMED CT is a high-quality clinical terminology, used within electronic health records. It provides a standardised way to represent clinical phrases captured by the clinician and enables automatic interpretation of these.

The DSMP follows a set of Enterprise Architecture Principles that are integral in the development of datasets not only for here and now but future proofing for interoperability and ensuring that the data standards are set to support the delivery of integrated healthcare.

The HSE is developing a Data Dictionary in order to standardise all data elements throughout the organisation.
