PATHeD
The HSE and the Department of Health are currently involved in the development of the EU PATHeD Project.
The project aims to provide European Citizens with access to their healthcare data via a mobile application called PATHeD.
The PATHeD App aims to enable seamless cross-border care and the secure exchange of patient information in the form of Patient Summaries, (a snapshot generation of the patient's healthcare data), between the Irish healthcare infrastructure and the PATHeD (eHealthPass) mobile application, which aligns with the EU Cross-Border Directive 2011/24/EU. The exchange of data will be realised via the MyHealth@EU service. In doing so, this initiative will enhance the healthcare encounter experience and reduce the frequency of medical errors by providing quick access to patient health information in real time while abroad.
