HSE app

The HSE app is the patient's window to their health information., offering patients a single door into all public health services, giving them the ability to change appointments and look up accurate health information. Testing is complete and the first phase will go live in the coming months. 

Telehealth / Virtual Ward Model of Care

  • Video Enabled Care (VEC): Telehealth provides a comprehensive platform to deliver virtual care for patients in Ireland including audio and video-based consultations, remote monitoring, and more online supports and therapies. 
  • Remote Health Monitoring (RHM): The development of remote health monitoring capacity to support the delivery of both community and acute health services is being progressed by the National Digital Health Clinical Office. 

Enterprise Wireless Network

Implementing staff and patient Wi-Fi across all acute, community and corporate sites, enabling mobility and connectivity.

National Shared Care Record (NSCR) 

A shared care record enables healthcare providers in different settings (such as, primary and community care and hospitals) to view patient records for direct patient care. It brings together information from various systems into a central location for healthcare professionals to use which supports the delivery of care. This enables visibility of patient health information, without the ability to create or update the information. (This is an European Union mandate).

National Integrated Staff Records and Payroll

The National Integrated Staff Records and Payroll Integrating system (NiSRP) that will support the needs of a modern health system employer, enhancing available workforce information for manages, improving access to staff records and pay. 

Medical Laboratories (MedLIS)

The Laboratory Programme is the development and implementation of modern, integrated laboratory information systems including digital pathology, that streamline laboratory workflows, facilitate efficient data exchange with other healthcare systems, and support accurate and timely diagnostic results. 

Cyber Security Programme

The ICT and Cyber Programme oversee the cyber maturity uplift of the health system, including voluntary hospitals and voluntary community organisation through the provision of 27 funded initiatives over 7 years.
