National Home Support Case Management ICT System

There is a requirement to develop home support services and ensure the reform of services to deliver innovative and alternative approaches to service delivery across Older Persons, Mental Health and Disability services. The establishment of the Statutory Home Support Scheme (SHSS) will ensure robust governance of HSE direct and indirect home support services.

About the National Home Support Services Case Management and eRostering System:

  • The Home Support Reform Programme Steering Group has identified the development and implementation of a National Home Support Services Case Management and eRostering System as critical to the preparation for the Statutory Home Support Scheme and future delivery of Home Support Services.

  • The programme vision is to implement a national Home Support Services Case Management and eRostering System (HSS-CMeRS) that will support the management, oversight and timely delivery of Home Support Services. The system will provide a secure, digitally enabled platform through which Home Support Services can ensure optimum use of resources, thus contributing to more effective and efficient care for their service users in the context of the future reformed model of Home Support Services.

Implementing a National Home Support Services Case Management and eRostering System in Ireland is a significant change in the operational aspect of the services. However, it will result in significant reform benefits for service users, staff  and service delivery.

The main objectives of the project include:

  • To develop a business requirements specification and business case to support the implementation of a National Home Support Services Case Management and eRostering solution.

  • To procure and implement an integrated National Home Support Services Case Management and eRostering System to manage both caseload and resources with the ability to produce the necessary data in a timely manner to efficiently manage this complex service.
