An overview of the KDCPMS project and links to further information
The Kidney Disease Clinical Patient Management System (KDCPMS) manages patients with kidney disease from their initial presentation to a renal center through to renal replacement therapy, including Haemodialysis, Peritoneal Dialysis, and Transplantation. It is designed to streamline the clinical management process for all stages of kidney disease treatment.
Providing a single electronic patient records for each renal patient in the country would help to improve continuity of care, clinical audit and quality outcomes for patients living with renal disease in Ireland.
Our project to date on the major renal facilities and what's next for KDCPMS.
Initiated by the Renal Strategy Group with secured funding, the project began with a 'Statement of Work' to define the product, deliverables, and boundaries, clarifying included and excluded requirements.
20% of adults aged over 45 years in Ireland have Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD), a condition that significantly increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and premature mortality
There were multiple stakeholders from the onset of this project; however the key stakeholders were from a clinical/corporate/business and ICT background.
