ICT For Public Health Team Day
The annual ICT for Public Health Team Day was held in Dublin on the 24th September, 2024. The day began with Bernie Flynn, Deputy Delivery Director, welcoming and thanking everyone for attending. The event featured various presentations and activities and received overwhelmingly positive feedback, largely due to the staff's active participation in lively Q&A sessions.
Speakers on the day included Noreen Noonan, ICT Delivery Director, who presented a comprehensive review of the team's role in delivering and implementing pivotal ICT projects to support Population Health service delivery digital requirements and reform priorities and called out the alignment of the function’s strategic priorities with Digital for Care, the Digital Health Framework and Strategic Implementation Roadmap.
Deirdre Horgan, Senior ICT Project Manager, gave an enlightening presentation on a self-reflection initiative originating from the Leadership Programme initiative endorsed by SMT earlier in the year.
Fran Thompson, Chief Information Officer discussed the importance of prioritising initiatives and balancing immediate needs with long-term goals.
While Joyce Shaw, Chief of Staff and Head of Business Operations, highlighted the importance of sharing achievements. She also shared insights into digital marketing objectives and the ongoing development of eHub.
The presentation on "Characteristics of a Winning (High Performing) Team" by Gartner’s Barry Cahill, a member of the Dublin All-Ireland Football Championship winning team in 2011, lived up to expectations. Barry gave an inspiring account of the concepts associated with high-performing teams with a key takeaway that focusing on changing your mindset can result in positive behavioural changes. Barry emphasised that a common culture is fundamental to constructive growth within a team or organisation.
The day concluded with a positive and engaging reflection on the day’s content.
