Gus Dorrington-Clerical Officer National Service Desk

Background:

I'm currently working in the National Service Desk as a Grade 4 Clerical Officer.  I have been in his role since 2017, spanning 7 years. I am based in Dr. Steevens Hospital and residing in Drimnagh. 

Daily Routine:
I am presently working from home but when I was in the office, I had to get a Bus and Luas with a travel time of approx 30 minutes. I would walk home most evenings with my Guide Dog Diva, which would take 50 mins. 

I start working at 8:00 AM, and have my lunch around 1:00 PM; returning to the office by 1:30 PM. My working day concludes at 4:30 PM. 

Working Life:
My work involves releasing emails for the entire HSE that have been quarantined by the Anti-Virus software. While my role may not directly impact patient care, it could have an effect on emails to or from Medical Staff.

I am currently focused on preparing for retirement, with a timeline set for August 2024 and enjoy Playing the Ukulele in my free time outside of work.
