Cancer Care eHealth Programme Update
As it is Daffodil Day 2018 and many of us are thinking about cancer and cancer care, we in eHealthIreland wanted to bring you a brief update on the progress of our work on digital health in this area. Currently work is underway on the development of MOCIS (Medical Oncology Clinical Information System). MOCIS is an information system to support the shared medical oncology care delivery model. It will enable a multi-disciplinary management of a patient's chemotherapy. Treatment of cancer with Systemic Anti Cancer Therapy (SACT) often involves high-risk drugs and complex treatment regimens which can comprise of multiple drugs and supportive therapies, and MOCIS will support the care of patients receiving SACT. Test stage of MOCIS commenced in February 2018 and updates on this will follow shortly. It is hoped that initial site installation can proceed in late Q3 2018.
MOCIS is a project of the Cancer Care eHealth Programme, which is a joint programme of the Office of the CIO and the National Cancer Control Programme. You can find out more about it here and we will keep you updated on our news pages with further updates.
